Ballet Attire 2015
All Girls are to wear pink leather ballet shoes.. (the more senior girls will be told when to purchase pointe shoes.)
Grade 0 - 3 are to wear pink ballet socks.
Grade 4 and up are to wear pink ballet tights.
Grade 0: Pink leotard and skirt
Grade 1: White leotard and skirt
Grade 2: Purple leotard
Grade 3: Turquois leotard
Grade 4 and 5: Navy leotard
Grade 6 and 7: Lilac leotard
Grade 8 and up (all majors): Black leotard
Ballet Uniform
Hair: Hair must be neatly tied back out of the face and put in a neat ballet bun. Students may wear any pretty accessories they wish in their hair.
Warm ups: Students may wear warm ups such as leg warmers and tight fitting jerseys (and in very cold weather extra warm clothes that they need). After a good warm up teachers may ask for the students to remove some warm ups (weather permitting).
Jewellry: No big pieces of jewellry to be worn as this may injure the student or a fellow dancer. Dainty earrings may be worn.
Extras: This is not a requirment but students may bring a water bottle to class and a sweat towel.

Why is the correct attire important?
- The neatness of a Ballerina's appearance teaches the students dicipline, self awareness and self worth as well as repect for themselves and others.
-It helps them concentrate on improving their skills as they are not worrying about hair in their face or what they are wearing. and when the teacher can see the students body properly they can teach and correct properly.
-It is also for the safety of the students
-It prepares our students for examinations as if they only have a bun when it is exam time, it will be a different feeling and will most likely throw them off.
All in all it is for the benefit of our ballerinas as we want them to get the most out of each and every class.
Please speak to the teachers before purchasing the uniform as the uniforms all have to be a specific style and colour.
The uniform aquired in the third term for the exam is to be worn the following year as required uniform.
